    Emma L. Andrews Library was established in 1900. The William T. Humphery house at 77 Purchase was purchased for $3,500 in 1905 and the Library is still at this location. It is run 100% by volunteers and is open Monday & Wednesday from 1:00-8:00PM and Saturday 9:00-3:00PM. We offer three story hours on Wednesday and one on Saturday. We offer a Tween program on Saturday, Local Author Series the third Thursday of the month. We also award two $1000 scholarships to graduating seniors of Newburyport each year. We have several groups that meet at the Library, Memoir Group, Scouts, Children's Authors , Book Club. Brown School kindergarden and pre-school students come to the Library for walking field trips in the Fall and Spring each year.
