Our laundry attendant plays a major role within the housekeeping team by providing efficient laundry care and services for the housekeepers to complete guest rooms in a timely manner. The essence of this role is to take responsibility and accountability not just for your daily tasks, but other support tasks that may be asked of the Front Desk Staff or Management team. This role’s success is important to the success of the hotel.

Job Responsibilities Include:
- Collecting laundry from rooms or hallways when needed
- This requires you to check in with the housekeepers/ housekeeping manager and the ability to understand daily housekeeping board assignments
- This is a support role to the housekeeping team
- Sorting, washing, drying, and folding guest room linen items. (e.g., sheets, towels, blankets, etc.)
- Put away folded laundry in the properly labeled areas for the housekeeping team to pull from
- Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment.
- Removing stains from items using the appropriate procedures.
- Keeping an updated inventory of laundry detergents.
- Tracking maintenance and repairs on laundering equipment.
- Reports necessary maintenance items on a work ticket.
- Ensuring that the machines remain clean and free of lint build up at all times.
- Ensuring the laundry area is clean and organized for co-workers to move about and find properly labeled items.
- Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
- Assist with setup & breakdown of continental breakfast, stock items during service and clean up
- Consistently offers professional, friendly, and engaging service when interacting with guests or co-workers.
- Must have energetic, friendly, and positive demeanor with guests and co-workers
- Ensures housekeeping departmental standards are followed.
- Follows all safety and sanitation policies
- Properly dressed in uniform provided
- Clear written and verbal communication between co-workers and other departments
- Takes initiative and thinks of solutions, acting proactively to address issues
- Ability to understand and take direction from supervisor and management team
- This may include assisting other departments with light housekeeping tasks such as general trash removal, public area sweeping/mopping, etc.
- Understanding of all procedures and policies as they apply to the housekeeping position, employee handbook and Choice Hotel Ascend Collection Brand Standards.
Administrative and Miscellaneous:
- Signs off with the Front Desk and turns in daily worksheets at the end of each shift
- Informs management of any inventory items running low or out of stock
- Keep all storage closets and storage areas fully stocked with clean linen and neat at all times
- Assist Front Desk staff/Management Team/Maintenance with any other aspects of the Inn, as needed
