Have you always wanted to try yoga but don't know where to start? This workshop is for you! It's common to feel intimidated or nervous to walk into a group class for the first time, so we've designed this workshop to help give you some of the basics in an open, relaxed environment, and help you gain the skills to confidently join our weekly group classes.
The workshop will start with a brief discussion of the history and philosophy of yoga, and the foundations of the practice: asana (postures), pranayama (breath), bandhas (energetic seals), and drishti (gaze points). We'll put all those pieces together in a simple flow, and end with a short meditation.
The class size will be limited to give each student individualized attention and help modifying postures to meet your body's needs. You'll receive a handout of postures to take home so you can practice between studio classes, and the cost includes 1 free week of unlimited classes following the workshop!
