The Blizzard of Oz (Joppa Dance Company)

Joppa Dance Company and the Firehouse Center for the Arts present, The Blizzard of Oz, on Friday, November 30th 8:00pm, Saturday, December 1st 2:00 and 8:00pm and Sunday, December 2nd 2:00pm. This youth troupe of over 40 dancers brings you a heart-warming, funny and zany dance-theater production based on the classic story, Wizard of Oz, but with a local and seasonal spin. After Dorothy is swept away in a blizzard, she and her new friends make their way to Emerald City in search of the Wizard- the only person who can fulfill their dreams. Dive into the season with Joppa Dance Co. as it celebrates the true joys of being “no place but home for the holidays”!

Choreography by Joppa Directors: Fontaine Dubus, Jen Steeves, Cheryl Fisher and by Pam Smith. Additional choreography is created by the dancers.

The cast of characters include, from Newburyport: Isabella Vega as Dorothy, Isabella Schwind as the Wicked Witch, Hannah Ford as the Good Witch, Katrina Newfell as Lion, Alexandra Zabroski as Tin-Man, Emma Weis as Wizard; from Newbury: Paige McCraven as Captain Flying Monkey; from Amesbury, Robin Orr as Toto; from West Newbury, Annika Ellis as Scarecrow; from Byfiled: Samantha Kennedy as the Witch’s Captain Guard
