Name: Rochester Electronics First Charitable Golf Tournament
Date: August 13, 2018
Event Description:

Rochester’s first charitable golf tournament that will be at the Ipswich Country Club on Monday, August 13, 2018. We have selected The Pettengill House and Our Neighbor’s Table as beneficiaries of the tournament. Two excellent local organizations that do amazing work to provide food, supplies and services to needy families

The Pettengill House, Inc. is an award-winning non-profit social service agency for the local community. In collaboration with our community partners, we have extensive experience in providing "wrap-around" services to support at-risk individuals, children and families through education, intervention and a therapeutic system of care.

The Pettengill House, Inc. was founded in 1994 by a diverse group of local residents and agency representatives to specifically address the needs of the most at-risk, underserved children and families. The original goals were primarily prevention related. However, it immediately became clear that the organization's clientele were primarily concerned with survival issues of food, clothing, shelter, health and safety.

Pettengill believes that individual and family stabilization is best achieved by identifying the level of need both individually and as a family unit and addressing said needs "one step at a time". Our primary concerns are the most basic human needs of food, clothing, shelter, health and safety

In the beginning...
The Wednesday Meal currently offered at Our Neighbors’ Table was the first program opened to the community. The first meal - spaghetti and meatballs prepared and served by volunteers in May 1992 - hosted 8 guests. A table at the back of the dining room held a small assortment of canned goods available for guests to take home if needed.
Today...
We welcome 150 guests to our Wednesday Meal each week. Our food pantry program provides groceries, fresh foods, and toiletries to more than 400 households from 12 cities and towns a week across 4 pantry locations, and deliver groceries and hot meals to home-bound individuals in 3 towns. Each holiday season, we distribute special groceries and turkeys to more than 700 families. But most of all, food is never more than a phone call away through our 24/7 emergency hotline.
Tomorrow...
While we all envision a day when all of our neighbors have enough food and our services are no longer needed, the leadership of Our Neighbors’ Table is committed to ensuring that our doors are open as long as someone is in need. Take a look at our current Vision Statement that guides our work. Our 2020 Strategic Plan will create the roadmap to ensure we can continue to meet the need in our region and work toward our vision of real food access when and where it's needed.
