Cantemus Chamber Chorus's December concert, entitled “Old World, New Worlds,” brings together the Old World music of Western Europe and New World repertoire of the Americas and East Asia. Ancient texts are set to modern music and the heritages of Christmas and Chanukah celebration are presented in traditional and contemporary modes. The program offers works by Felix Mendelssohn, by contemporary American composer Michael Mendoza, by preeminent African-American composer Nathaniel Dett, and the centerpiece work "A Ceremony of Carols" by Benjamin Britten, accompanied by harp.
