The Museum of Old Newbury's annual garden tour marks the beginning of summer in Newburyport. Spend the weekend exploring some of the area's loveliest private gardens, carefully selected for their variety of plant materials, stunning locations, and creative features. With gardens large and small, designed by landscape architects and intrepid DIY-ers, the tour promises something to suit every style and inspire gardeners of any level.
The museum's own restored 19th century garden serves as inspiration for the tour, as well as the first featured property. The museum's 98 High Street campus hosts a number of other activities for the weekend, including the annual Plant Sale and Gilded Horse Boutique of home and garden goods. The 1808 Cushing House is open for tours, as well as the Perkins Printing and Engraving Plant, where New England currency was produced in the early 1800s.
