The Walsingham Gallery will present Between Land & Sea, an exhibition of coastal landscape paintings from two local masters, Robert Scott Jackson and Ronald Tinney. The Artists’ Reception will be held on August 17 from 7-9 pm, and the exhibition will continue through September 30.
Robert Scott Jackson’s landscape paintings glow with vibrant color and ambient light. While tradition informs his technique, he also maintains his own distinctive modern approach. Depicting every tree, mountain, estuary, and haystack with soft shapes, lush colors, and unified compositions, he portrays the natural world as harmonious and eternal.
Ronald Tinney gives his paintings titles like Moments of Peace and Quiet Magic to reflect recurring themes of tranquility and beauty. He seeks to capture not only the physical reality of the natural world, but also to recreate the human emotions landscape evokes, offering the viewer a much-needed rest from the constant inundation of information and stress of contemporary life.
